#122: Mr Mime

MrMime5

I’m doubly proud of myself this time. The Random Nethack God saw fit to pick my least favourite Pokemon ever, and rather than just trying again, I thought “well, now is as good a time as any to get this one done and out the way”, so I made a Mr Mime.

But it gets better. I found no patterns online, and had to make my own. (That isn’t the bit that makes it better. Wait for it…). And unlike Kakuna, I wrote it down! And unlike Kabutops, I saved it! Which means…

Ta-daaa! Here’s a free pattern for Mr Mime!!!

I’d be really interested if anyone has a go, because this is the first time I’m sharing a real, fiddly pattern with the world. I’m sharing exactly what I did, and you can see in the pictures how mine came out, so you could edit it to make it work better for you and let me know how you got on. For one thing, I think I needed to do stick with dark pink a bit longer on the middle of the body.

Love it!! Mr. Mime is adorable!! Thank you so much for sharing your pattern!!

  3. Wow, this is great! My daughter is nuts about the weirdo. LOL But there are zero dolls/plushes out there, so I’m thinking about trying your awesome pattern. Did you use 4 weight yarn? What size hook did you use? How tall would you say your finished doll is? Thanks for the help! 🙂

    • Thanks very much! I used DK (about 8-ply), and probably a 3 or 3.5mm hook to keep the stitches as tight as possible. The doll came out about 8″, maybe slightly more if you stretch it out. I hope you have a go and good luck – I’d love to see a photo of the finished article!

Love it? Hate it? Tell me your feel!
